Nantwich Sticker Hunt:

A town that permanently has a mark on my identity. Roads that have inspired, healed and allowed myself contemplation. On these said roads you can hunt for all the stickers that contain my artwork and stay mindful of the surroundings that contain many peaceful sights.

Manchester Sticker Hunt:

An area that has seen me grow. An environment that has calloused me both physically and mentally. I seek growth in Manchester religiously. It has gradually become more and more apart of my identity. The paths have once again inspired me and helped me become the man I am today. Along these paths you can hunt fo more of my stickers that hold sections of my artwork. Amongst this can be found repurposed rocks into digestible and audience engaged artworks  produced by Ellen part of this Artist Collective. We entwined our paths as our practices are becoming increasingly relatable to one another and currently in the process of collaborative elements. We hope you have happy hunting sessions and gain the same feeling we got from these paths.

My personal Strava:

This application has helped me tremendously in holding myself accountable for exercise and seeing how far I have come in my journey. Exercise is a passion of mine and one I like to share. Please have a look at my Strava and find other paths that are part of my identity and try find the beauty in them.

Resurrection

An interest in all forms of resurrection drives this project. We see this appear everyday in large grandiose manners to simple transitions of one form to another. With my work I hope to resonate with others on similar paths, inspiring and guiding them along the way.

Metamorphosis

We are animals enduring a process of physical and mental development after our birth. Our change can be vary from gentle to brutal, gradual to abrupt. To grow, we must endure our struggle. The process from Caterpillar to Butterfly defines this.

Cocoon Performance

A performance focused on a human figure imitating an insects process, almost a planned act of desperation directed at becoming a better version of who they are. The performance makes use of domestic objects to help ground the discussion of rebirth in the everyday.

Identity Collaboration

The birth of this project came when myself and Katie saw each others discussion of identity from an autobiographical perspective present in one another's work. Taking a spoken word I wrote based from my perspective we were able to translate it into a larger project that could represent two perspectives hat could resonate with a wider range of audience. Please view the performance on the link below.

Discipline Short Film

An element I am constantly trying to practice and incorporate into my identity. The film documents my life during lockdown in a loose narrative structure. Incorporating rhythm and fast cuts to emphasise the need for structure and productivity. Discipline is another tool used by the Hero on their journey.

Gallery Room

My work would not only perform different in a physical exhibition but I believe it would also perform better. A dark cinematic room holding a large monitor displaying the cocoon performance would allow a more grand effect. The figure would tower over the viewer, allowing them to get close and possibly feel more open to touching. The figure would conflict the thoughts as its unnatural scale contradict the life forms relatable actions and likeness to themselves. This could then allow more ease in thinking on the subject as it would seem less intrusive and more of an opportunity for escapism into another world.

Surrounding the large screen would be smaller monitors that populate large room. These would display films and imagery that relaes to the broader subject of identity and emotion. The small monitors would both hold enough space between them and headphones linked to them to keep the room quiet enough to be immersed into the large scale and silent performance. the room therefor allows an optional trail fro the viewer to get lost in, investigate and contemplate their thoughts on the subject matter, creating a small  journey that they can leave with the memory of and meditate on it throughout the rest of their experience through the gallery.

Preliminary Sticker Idea

Before using film stills as the stickers, I considered an illustrative take on one, using simple block shading and intended them to be one tiny image duplicated as many times needed. However I decided using sections of my film stills would create more of a puzzle element for the audience who would be following the treasure hunt theme we planned.
